I’m a product designer interested in discovering why people do what they do and designing meaningful experiences around that.

I have a background in Industrial Design and have been working as an enterprise designer for almost 10 years. My process is simple: problem first. I have a passion for all things process-improvement therefore have found myself gravitating towards work on internal process tools…the more complicated the better. I enjoy digging into complex domains and have experience implementing solutions within legal tech, fleet management, data warehouse, oil & mineral rights, and checkout optimization. I thrive when I’m working closely with an interdisciplinary team and get a lot of value out of collaborating with other designers.

As the only Staff Designer across my design org I lead complex projects and define the scope of design. I work closely with my product, data and engineering counterparts to strategically drive our roadmap, and support design leadership in establishing culture and design practices. I actively mentor designers across my team through pair design sessions, workshops and design critiques.

Stronghold Resource Partners

2020 – May 2021

As the Design Director, I was hired to lead design and help with the creation of a product organization. We were tasked with building a solution reflective of current problems beings solved as well as anticipated problems years down the road. I worked closely with our product management team to understand the complex domain of oil & mineral rights and create strategic solutions on an iterative timeline. We used lean research methodologies and had problem-focused initiatives with an emphasis on user validation.

Pivotal Labs

2018 – 2020

As a Senior Designer (consultant) my role was both to enable the client designer and to deliver a product that fit our user’s needs. I helped teams to ship products that created real user value while enabling the client team to develop skills necessary to take the product through completion after an engagement with our team. I used a lean/iterative mentality and helped the team ensure we were solving the right problems with the right understanding of user needs and jobs. I worked with an interdisciplinary product team to show clients the value of agile design and the importance of talking to real users when building a product.

Allstate | Arity

2017–2018

As a Senior Product Design Manager, I managed several designers and partnered closely with the design leadership team on optimization efforts. Through design-pairing, I collaborated on several different projects tasked with carrying our products from inception through production-quality/working software in the hands of users. I worked with an interdisciplinary team to advocate for the role of design by keeping a transparent process, created user flows, designed and tested wireframes, built/tested prototypes, and facilitated a variety of workshops. I also led research efforts by validating concepts with users and iterating on solutions.

IBM Design

2015 – 2017

As a UX Designer & Researcher, I worked within several different complex domains, often within a large design team and led research efforts to align key stakeholders and integrate design into the development process. I created user flows, product diagrams, designed wireframes and prototypes, tested with users, and facilitated workshops.

Every role I’ve had has influenced my design process and how I work on a team. My most influential experience was with Pivotal Labs where I learned the value of working on a balanced product team while placing an emphasis on transparency and team health.

I’ve learned not only how to work with developers and product managers in a collaborative way, but also how to anticipate problems before they arise.
